"Jammed" E-Mail Account
Sometimes our customers receive e-mails containing very large files. We don't
limit the size of files which can be sent or received on our service like many
ISPs do. The problem with sending and/or receiving large files (usually
containing programs, photo, video or audio content) is the time it takes them to
upload and/or download from/to your computer.
If you have ISDN or wireless service, you can easily send and receive large
files because of your high-speed connection. If you are connecting using a 56K
modem, however, it can take several hours to upload/download these large files
to/from our e-mail server.
If your account gets "jammed" while trying to send an e-mail with a large
attachment, you may either wait the send out or you can cancel the send and
transfer the file by another method such as copying the file to a floppy disk or
a CD.
If your account gets "jammed" while receiving your e-mail, the problem
can be a bit more complicated as the delivery of any other e-mail will also be
cancelled if you choose to cancel delivery. This will result in having the same
batch of e-mails delivered to you repeatedly each time you connect to your
e-mail account.
We have two options for handling this problem: we can delete all the e-mails on
your account from our server or we can download all of your e-mails into a
computer here at our office and print them off for you.
We will download and empty your e-mail box free of charge unless it becomes
jammed repeatedly.
If you need to send and/or receive large files,
we suggest upgrading your internet service from standard 56K to ISDN or
wireless.
